Glazier (Glass Installer)

Established in 1935 and Central Pennsylvania’s leading commercial glass and aluminum contractor has openings in its Large Contract Division. The individual in this position has the opportunity to advance in the field or fabrication operations. Many of the Hershocks current management positions are filled by individuals who began in the field or fabrication operations.

Responsibilities:
● Installation of curtain wall, storefront, and architectural metal panels
● Reading manufacturer instructions and executing details for specific manufacturers’ systems
● Proper and safe use of scissor lifts, boom lifts, scaffold and swing stage
● Understanding and following of OSHA regulations
● Reading blueprints to determine location of aluminum framing
● Determining plumb of walls or ceilings by using plumb lines, levels, and level transit
● Cutting and installation of metal sashes and/or moldings
● Fasten glass units into sashes or frames with clips or moldings
● Secure mirrors in position using mastic, putty, or mechanical fasteners
● Transporting material to job site and loading material onto proper floor
● Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
● At least 2 years of experience as a Glazier performing the responsibilities as detailed above
● High school diploma or GED
● Valid PA Driver’s License
● Must be at least 18 years of age
● Passing post‐offer employment physical which includes drug testing
● Able to pass PA Criminal History and Child Abuse Clearance background checks

Fabricator

Established in 1935 and Central Pennsylvania’s leading commercial glass and aluminum contractor has openings in its Large Contract Division. These individuals will be fabricating aluminum storefronts, curtainwall, entrances, and metal panels. All of Hershocks employees have the long‐term opportunity to advance in the field or fabrication operations. Many of the Hershocks current management positions are filled by individuals who began in the field or fabrication operations.

Responsibilities:
● Reading and interpreting shop drawings, blue prints and manufacturer’s instructions
● Utilizing oral and written instructions to determine size, shape, and type of material to use
● Installing and adjusting hardware on doors and frames
● Cutting, fitting, and assembling material in accordance with manufacture’s specifications
● Operating forklift and side loader to move material from storage to production area
● Operating shear and folder to fabricate various break metal shapes from various metal stock
● Fabricating various composite panels from flat stock
● Unloading material from trucks by means of forklift, side loader and manual labor
● Understanding and following of OSHA regulations
● Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
● High school diploma or GED
● Valid PA Driver’s License
● Must be at least 18 years of age
● Passing post‐offer employment physical which includes drug testing
● Proven experience fabricating aluminum storefront, curtainwall, and entrances

Auto CAD Drafter

Established in 1935 and Central Pennsylvania’s leading commercial glass and aluminum contractor has an opening for an individual in its Large Contract Division. This individual would be working with estimators and project managers in order to generate and revise shop and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities:
● Review engineering drawings and retrieve necessary details to create shop drawings
● Visit job sites to see conditions first hand if needed
● Use of Auto CAD to complete drafting assignments for storefront, curtainwall, and metal panel jobs
● Assignments will range from routine to complex in nature
● Be a resource for Estimators as they bid new work
● Support estimators, project managers, and FAB manager as needed on each project
● Participate in weekly Large Contract Division meetings as needed

Requirements:
● Successful completion of 2 year Technical School with focus on Auto CAD and drafting
● Ability to read and extract information from architectural drawings
● Auto CAD experience preferred
● Excellent communication skills and team oriented

Facility and Vehicle Maintenance Manager

Established in 1935 and a leading commercial window and door contractor has an opening for an individual in its home office and fabrication facility. This person would be responsible to oversee the facility maintenance and vehicle fleet.

Responsibilities:
● Schedule routine maintenance for a fleet of 50 vehicles and trailers
● Monitor vehicle fleet for repair and safety needs that should be addressed
● Schedule routine maintenance of facility HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
● Monitor facility systems for repair and safety needs that should be address
● Responsible for lawn care, landscaping, leaf removal, snow removal
● Oversee special projects as assigned such as moving office furniture around
● Carry a cell phone in order to respond to emergency calls
● Be a member of the Safety Committee
● Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
● Proven ability as a vehicle fleet and facility manager
● Valid PA Driver’s License
● Passing post‐offer employment physical which includes drug testing
● Be a team player with the rest of the Hershocks Office and Fabrication staff

Auto CAD Drafter Intern

Established in 1935 and Central Pennsylvania’s leading commercial glass and aluminum contractor has a internship available for an individual in its Large Contract Division. The hours and workload would be flexible depending on the availability and skill level of the intern. This is a paid limited duration position that has the potential to become a full time position depending on the needs the company has at the completion of the internship.

Responsibilities:
